A Showroom Assistant opportunity has arisen with a leading interior design fabric supplier. This role would be based at the head office and showroom and will involve working with interior designers and managing their fabric project orders. The role will also involve supporting the companies overseas showrooms with client orders.
The business is very well established and has been serving the interior design industry for many years in London and abroad. The fabric ranges are extensive and of classical / traditional and contemporary styles. The company has an excellent reputation in the interior design industry. The role will involve working with clients face to face in the showroom and supporting the order administration process.
The job role will involve:
Administration:
Point of contact for clients via phone, in person in showroom, and via email, providing assistance selling and showing the collection, cutting and sending samples out.
Processing client orders / reserves/ invoicing all using Sage software / Excel
Liaising with mills and suppliers, placing and chasing orders for both clients & for stock
Point of contact for the overseas showroom colleagues, processing their queries and reserve requests, processing their POs and organising the twice weekly shipment.
Team work:
Displaying tact and initiative when working with both clients and colleagues
Keeping showroom tidy and samples up to date
Keeping an eye on stationery use and ordering more supplies in when needed
Communicating well with the packing & delivery team
Creativity:
A passion for and understanding of textiles and the language of interior design
A sensitivity for colour, texture and overall design
Taking the opportunity to help clients with their schemes/work/advising on what is available through the collections.
The company is looking for someone with:
Excellent administration, organisational skills & attention to detail
The ability to work well unsupervised as well as an integral part of the team.
Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Sage, Fedex Ship Manager (although training will be given in Sage & Fedex)
Some knowledge of French would be very useful although this is not essential
A good sense of humour!
It is required that candidates will need to have previous experience of working in a high end interiors fabric / soft furnishings showroom. Applicants that have not worked in the interiors industry will unfortunately not be considered.
The role is offered on a Monday to Friday basis. 9am - 5pm. A salary of £25,000 - £26,000 per year is on offer.
